AgroServ Launches its 1st Call for Proposals Open to Scientists

News 11 Sep, 2023 Agroserveu
Applications are now open for researchers interested in accessing the AgroServ research services and installations

The Horizon Europe AgroServ launches its first call for proposals open to scientists from academia or the industry who want to access the research services and installations managed by the AgroServ consortium. Access is granted on the basis of scientific excellence to ensure feasibility of the projects and their scientific quality.

IMPORTANT: The application procedure is divided into two main steps to ensure that the proposals submitted fulfil the “interdisciplinary transnational” criteria: a pre-proposal submission & a full proposal submission. Access can only be granted when the full proposal is submitted.

How to apply and send your proposals to access the services?

1) Explore our Catalogue of Services
2) Read thoroughly our page dedicated to the application procedure before submitting your application: HERE

This page covers:

  • The eligibility criteria,

  • The evaluation and selection process,

  • The funding schemes and the reporting requirements,

  • The policy of publishing and disseminating the results of the research projects that were granted access to use the AgroServ research services (scientific publications, etc.).

3) Submit your pre-proposal via the ISIA portal  before the 23rd of October 2023, 12:00 am CEST. CLOSED

Pre-proposal submission
Applicants submit an expression of interest that must include the following sections:

  • A short description of the intended work

  • A selection of the potential research services (at least two or more services/installations from two or more Research Infrastructures affiliated with AgroServ should be selected as explained in the application procedure page)

  • The expected outcome(s).

4) Submit your full proposal via the ISIA portal (DEADLINE TO BE CONFIRMED and the link will be shared once the pre-proposal submission phase completed)

Full proposal submission Applicants prepare a full proposal with the support of the research service or installation providers to ensure that the proposals are interdisciplinary in nature (involving different disciplines). The final proposal must include the following sections:

  • A detailed description of the work plan and the expected output<

  • The Impact of the proposed TNA work in the context of agroecology-related studies (e.g. resilience & adaptation of agriculture and food systems, agroecological transitions)

  • Feasibility, ethical considerations etc.

5) Evaluation process: Your full proposal will be reviewed by a panel of independent experts

( Further details can be found on the application procedure page: HERE )

6) Results and implementation of access

Each applicant will be informed of the outcome of their proposal within 2 months after the submission deadline.

In case the proposal is accepted, the successful applicant and the access service provider (the platform scientist) will directly negotiate the final details of the access implementation. The successful applicants are expected to be directly involved in carrying out the proposed work. The scientist will need to contact and work with the host institution to organise and implement the access to the research infrastructures providing the research services (dates of visit, travel and accommodation, etc.). Further information about funding can be found in the relevant section on our application procedure page.

Read our application procedure page and apply.
