AgroServ Announces Selected Projects in 2nd Transnational/Virtual access programme Call, Expanding Access to Research Services
AgroServ is pleased to announce the selection of 19 innovative projects as part of its 2nd Call for access. These projects will join the 20 initiatives from the 1st call in the Transnational/Virtual Access cohort, furthering AgroServ’s mission to advance the agroecological transition through transnational and transdisciplinary research.
The selected proposals, chosen by an external panel of experts based on scientific excellence criteria and coordinated by the European Science Foundation, span a wide range of fields. These include crop breeding, organic fertilizers, pest management, agroforestry, and biotechnology. A focus is also put on developing drought-resistant crops, utilizing insects as sustainable protein sources, and engineering plants to emit pheromones for natural pest control. Other projects explore the potential of cyanobacteria for biofuels and bioplastics, while promoting agroforestry practices to enhance biodiversity and carbon sequestration.
As part of AgroServ’s commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation, each of the 19 projects will gain free access to at least two research services from different Research Infrastructures. This unique opportunity will enable researchers to expand their projects’ ambitions, consolidating research and practice across Europe and internationally, to build a more sustainable and resilient agricultural future.
