Leading the transition: meet the first AgroServ Ambassadors

News 2 Mar, 2026 Webmaster

We are thrilled to officially announce the launch of the AgroServ Ambassadors Programme and introduce the first core group of researchers who will lead our community outreach efforts.

As AgroServ works to support the global transition toward sustainable agroecology, we believe that the best way to demonstrate the impact of our Transnational and Virtual Access (TNA/VA) opportunities is through the voices of the scientists actually using them. These five Ambassadors represent a diverse cross-section of our user community—ranging from PhD candidates to senior professors—and bring a wealth of expertise from across Europe.

Why an ambassador programme?

Our Ambassadors are more than just representatives, they are the bridge between our high-level research infrastructures and the scientists, SMEs, and policymakers who can benefit from them. By sharing their first-hand experiences and research results and promoting the project to their wider communities, they help us build a stronger, more connected agroecological research network.

Meet our first ambassadors

These first ambassadors were selected from a pool of highly motivated and successful users of the TNA programme. We are deeply grateful to all those who expressed their interest and shared their vision for the project’s outreach. AgroServ remains committed to integrating and supporting all our users in future community-building activities as the project continues and evolves.

We are proud to introduce the first five members of this inaugural cohort:

  • Isabel Nogués, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Research on Terrestrial Ecosystems, Italian National Research Council (CNR), Italy. Isabel brings extensive experience in plant biochemistry and physiology, helping to translate complex ecosystem data into actionable knowledge.
  • Iman Mirmazloum, Senior Researcher at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), Hungary. Iman’s work focuses on plant physiology and ecology, and he is a passionate advocate for helping new applicants navigate the TNA process.
  • Mauro Coppa, Professor at the University of Turin, Department of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences, Italy. As an expert in agricultural systems, Mauro provides a high-level academic perspective on how research infrastructures can drive innovation in the field.
  • Juan Carlos De la Concepcion, Junior Group Leader at the Center for Molecular Plant Biology (ZMBP), Germany. Representing the next generation of research leaders, Juan Carlos focuses on molecular plant biology and its role in sustainable agriculture.
  • Alberto Akiki, PhD Candidate at the University School for Advanced Studies (IUSS) Pavia and the University of Teramo, Italy. Alberto represents our early-career researchers, showing how AgroServ services can be a catalyst for groundbreaking doctoral research.

Connect with our community

To allow interested applicants and stakeholders to engage more deeply with our Ambassadors, we have launched a dedicated landing page: ambassadors.agroserv.eu.

This page serves as a hub where you can find detailed profiles of our ambassadors, explore their research journeys, and reach out to them directly for support, advice, or professional connection. Whether you are looking for tips on your TNA application or seeking a collaborator for an agroecological initiative, our ambassadors are here to help.

What’s next?

Over the coming months, you will see our Ambassadors featuring in webinars, sharing their stories on our newsletter, and representing AgroServ at international conferences and events.

They will play a vital role in our upcoming TNA calls, offering peer-to-peer insights to prospective applicants. We invite you to join us in welcoming them and to visit the new landing page to start building your network within the AgroServ community.
